MCWC members - It's still not to late to call or email lawmakers. The House did not vote today and the bills will be taken up tomorrow, Wednesday, May 21 we have been told. If you haven't called or email, please take the time to do it now. It does make a difference. Thank you. - Terry Swier

Great Lakes, Great Michigan Partners,

The word from the Capitol today is that the phones have been ringing and the emails are making their way to lawmakers' in-boxes. Fantastic work everyone!

The Michigan House did not vote on the remaining bills in the water package today but we have assurances the bills will be taken up tomorrow. The House session begins at 1:30 p.m. but House members will likely be caucusing on the water package. It is likely they will begin voting between 2:30 and 4:00 p.m. If you'd like to tune in to House TV to watch, try this link:  http://house.michigan.gov/htv.asp

I'm attaching the talking points for the remaining legislation which should be considered tomorrow.

Below I've included two recent links for Detroit Free Press columns supporting GLGM's position:

Please let me know if you have any questions...but mostly keep those phone lines ringing and emails swarming into lawmakers computers. I've included the priority lawmaker list again below for your convenience. I've been told that both David Law and Chris Ward have now committed to supporting the House water package ... but keep the contacts flowing.

Keep up the great work. Together we will get there ... we must!
